AUSTIN (KXAN) - The roommate of a man whose body was found in June at a Southwest Austin park has been indicted on a murder charge.

A Travis County grand jury on Thursday handed down the indictment against 22-year-old Dario Donahue Ballard II, saying he shot and killed Omar Azmitia-Hernandez, 22, on June 24.

Police said they linked Ballard to the death through a third roommate whose truck was used to take the dead man's body to Blue Valley Park.

When police contacted the third man, he told them that Ballard had shot and killed Azmitia-Hernandez at their apartment in the Travis Country section of Austin.

Police say the third roommate, Dominic Wilson, agreed to burn the house and car. He is charged with felony arson. His case remains pending.
