Man in custody on murder charges

Officers say Mark Ramirez was linked to murder

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A man accused of killing a homeless man on Tuesday in Southeast Austin is in jail. The murder happened near the Valero gas station on Ben White Boulevard.

Officers said they were in the process of arresting Mark Anthony Ramirez for criminal trespassing on Friday when they found blood on his clothing and on a knife he was carrying.

After further investigation, officers say they linked Ramirez to Bryan Labay's murder .

Ramirez' bond is set at $350,000.
