Man arrested in sexual assault of child
Garret Don Stephens, 20, facing felony charges

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police said they arrested a man on Tuesday for engaging in inappropriate actions with a 14-year-old boy last year.
According to police, Garrett Don Stephens, 20, met the teen at a program more than a year ago, and they stayed in contact by phone.
On April 27,2011, Stephens and the victim smoked marijuana together near the 900 block of East 49th Street. After smoking, sexual contact occurred between the victim and Stephens, the affidavit said.
Police received statements from the victim and a witness in 2011, but Stephens' whereabouts were unknown at the time, the affidavit said.
According to the affidavit, Police were informed by Stephens' relatives of his location and police issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday.
Stephens is charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony and his bond is set for $20,000.
