AUSTIN (KXAN) - A 35-year-old man who was detained by police on Friday is charged with murder in the July 9 shooting death of Alejandro Hernandez Jr.
Thomas Trent Atkinson Jr. was being held on $75,000 bond. He was stopped near Georgian Drive and Powell Lane.
Hernandez, 41, was found inside a parked truck in the middle of road in the 200 block of West Lola Drive in North Austin. He was shot to death, police said later in the afternoon.
Officers were called to the area near U.S. 183 just before 6 a.m. There they found 42-year-old Alejandro Hernandez slumped over in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The driver's side window is also shattered.
