AUSTIN (KXAN) - Work on two Downtown Austin streets continues and lane access will be blocked during the coming weeks.
The city of Austin advises drivers that starting Monday, Brazos Street will be reduced to one lane between Cesar Chavez and Second streets. The reconstruction work is expected to be complete by July 28.
Work on Second Street, however, will take longer to complete. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Second Street continues to be detoured between Congress Avenue and Brazos Street. Eastbound lanes are expected to be finished by Aug. 2.
However, all work is not expected to be complete until Sept. 10.
Pedestrian traffic along the south side of 2nd Street also continues to be detoured to accommodate sidewalk reconstruction work.
