ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong, an Austin resident, has lost his Tour de France titles and the backing of major sponsors. But the Aspen Art Museum says it is standing by the part-time resident who is on the museum board.

The Aspen Times reports Tuesday that museum officials hope Armstrong remains on its board of directors. Nike, Anheuser-Busch and other major corporate sponsors have dropped Lance Armstrong in the wake of the doping scandal.

In Aspen, Armstrong attended an August fundraiser for the art museum that raised $1.8 million.

Aspen Art Museum director Heidi Zuckerman Jacobson called Armstrong "an excellent board member and good citizen in our community."
