AUSTIN (KXAN) - The lockdown at Lake Travis school district campuses was lifted just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The lockdown was prompted by reports of a someone loitering near the Lake Travis school district's education development center around 2 p.m.
Law enforcement officers were called in, and officials said the lockdown was ordered as a precautionary step.
Marco Alvarado, a spokesman for the district, said at 2:45 p.m. that the lockdown remained in place for Lake Travis Elementary and the education development center. It was lifted earlier for the other campuses.
"All students and staff are safe and unharmed," the district said on its website. " Law enforcement is continuing to sweep LTE, and there is no indication of an active threat."
