AUSTIN (KXAN) - It's never been done in Texas before. A high school winning five consecutive football titles.

The Lake Travis Cavaliers calls their quest The Drive for Five. They left Thursday for Arlington and a date with history. They play Waco Midway at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on Friday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m and will be carried on KTXX, 104.9-FM.

This is new for one mom. Tracy Quinterro's family transferred here from Las Vegas. She says, "They're going to win, they're a good team. It's so exciting."

That was echoed by her son Brandon, a player on the squad. He says, "I'm so excited. It's my first year with the Cavs and we never had this kind of excitement in Las Vegas."

Plenty of proud parents offered hugs and handshakes as the players packed their bus. Jim Stewart is an old hand at these winning ways. Asked if he had a good vibe, he replied, "Five rings. We're headed up right now. It will be a party."

The players left to a boisterous rally and headed up the road, a road they've well traveled.
