AUSTIN (KXAN) - Circuit of the Americas has shed some light on their transportation plans for  the Formula One race weekend.  On Monday, track officials unveiled routes and pick-up locations for the different commute options.

The shuttle buses and taxis will pick-up and drop-off people on the far northwest corner of the facility.  Helicopters, on the other hand, will land on the far southeast corner.  There are about 18-thousand parking spaces around the track reserved for vehicles with passes.

Charter buses, cars, and limousines will also park on site.  Those vehicles are not allowed to make more than one round-trip per day.

Companies, like R&R Limo & Bus, have increased their fleet to handle the crowd but are still educating its drivers on best routes and procedures to the track.

More than half of the 120-thousand ticketholders are expected to travel by shuttle bus.  The two major shuttle bus hubs are located at 15th Street and Trinity Street near downtown Austin and the Travis County Expo Center in East Austin.

Both will use the SH 130 Tollway, and exit Elroy Road to reach the track.  The transfer stations at Circuit of the Americas are located off of McAngus Road.
