Job fair Wed. at Palmer Events Center

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Job seekers have the opportunity to meet with hiring companies at the annual Community Job and Resource Expo on Wednesday at the Palmer Events Center, located at 900 Barton Springs Road.

The event runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free parking will be available in the Palmer Events Center garage.

It is sponsored by the city of Austin, Travis County and more than 50 local employers and nonprofit resource agencies. They are expected to showcase more than 1,000 available part-time and full-time positions in the areas of:

  • information technology
  • customer service
  • public events
  • maintenance
  • community service
  • recreation
  • administration
  • finance

Participants will have opportunities to meet face-to-face with human resources professionals, and representatives from the city of Austin and Travis County, as well as other employers and temporary staffing agencies including; Apple One, Capital Metro, e-Bay/PayPal, Evins Personnel Consultants, Inc., Express Employment Professionals, Goodwill Staffing, Hawkins Personnel Service, Home Depot, Keystaff, Inc., Lowes, McDavid Automotive, Peak Performers, Pflugerville ISD, Seton Family of Hospitals, State of Texas, Time Warner Cable, Univision Radio Broadcasting, and Wells Fargo.

Those attending the fair will be able to turn in job interest forms to hiring agencies at the event and participants are encouraged to apply for a city of Austin job online before the event. Participants are encouraged to bring current copies of their resumes.
