AUSTIN (KXAN) - Now here's a city policy that has gone completely off the tracks.
Literally.
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department on Thursday was forced to suspend operations of the Zilker Zephyr, the little locomotive that traverses the park for which it is named.
The department said that during some construction work at the park, a heavy vehicle drove over the train tunnel. That caused some cracking, which could have inflicted structural damage.
And that will keep the Zephyr derailed until further notice.
