A man that lead officers on a chase that injured an innocent bystander is in jail on Thursday evening.
Police have charged Edgar Perez, 28, with driving while intoxicated, evading, failure to stop and render aid.
Just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Austin police officers were trying to pull Perez over but he proceeded to lead officers on a chase.
During the span of the chase, Perez ran into another driver in the 10200 block of North Lamar, just south of Kramer Lane. The innocent driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Perez was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries -- he was treated and released to the Travis County jail. Perez also had a warrants out of Williamson County for burglary of vehicles.
