AUSTIN (KXAN) - A water main break off Interstate 35 in South Austin has roads shut down while crews work on a fix.
Chaparral Road from Circle Road to the I-35 frontage road are closed. In addition, the right lane of the frontage road heading south is closed from William Cannon Drive to Corral Lane.
contractor hit an 8-inch main at about 9 a.m. near I-35 and Boggy Creek Drive.
Valve and repair crews have shut off the water as of 11:45 a.m. Service was restored by 1:10 p.m.
Businesses -- used car lots and a nearby Whataburger -- and an apartment complex will be affected until 3:46 p.m. while crews work to fix the break.
