AUSTIN (KXAN) - If you’ve rented homes while on vacation instead of staying at a hotel, you’ve probably visited HomeAway, Inc.

HomeAway, an online vacation rental website, is opening its third Austin office to accommodate its growing staff.

HomeAway’s customer service and sales teams will occupy the new location in the Penn Field campus.

The company made it a point to make the environment inviting and comfortable, with the help of local companies.

“HomeAway is real proud to have worked almost exclusively with Austin artists and builders and contractors to keep Austin just a little bit weird,” said Carl Shepherd, HomeAway co-founder.

The Austin-based company has outgrown its headquarters after nearly doubling its Austin employee base to 466 since 2009. The company was formed in 2005 with just three employees.
