AUSTIN (KXAN) - Fears expressed in January that an iconic South Austin restaurant could close have been averted with the announcement that Hill's Cafe has been bought by Tradelogic Corporation.
Tradelogic owns other Austin eateries, including Abel's on the Lake, Cain and Abel's in the West Campus area, El Arroyo, Star Seeds Cafe and the Tavern.
According to " Eater ," Art Blondin of Artz Rib House on South Lamar Boulevard has been hired for Hill's Cafe. Eater writes that Tradelogic will help Blondin reopen his Rib House in the original location under the name of Abel's Rib House later in the year.
According to Tradelogic's website, the company loves being in the food business.
"We got our start in hospitality and still love every second of it. With a background in restaurants and bars ranging from neighborhood to sports to American to Mexican, we are eager to expand our current operations and take on more opportunities," Tradelogic's site states.
