AUSTIN (KXAN) - Just two months after a SWAT standoff in south Austin, police were called to the exact same home on Saturday morning after more gunshots were heard coming from the home.
John McBryde has been charged with Deadly Conduct after officers said he and two friends nicknamed “Nuts” and “Cowboy” were taking target practice at a couch cushion in McBryde’s backyard.
An arrest affidavit says they were firing a .410 shotgun in the direction of busy Dittmar Road where a pedestrian or vehicle could have potentially been struck.
The warrant also says the gun was illegally owned by McBryde who has a long criminal history and that the people inside the home were using Methamphetamine.
Neighbor Mary Jo Gilbert told KXAN that the home has become a nuisance and an eyesore in the otherwise quiet neighborhood on Hindon Lane.
“He has lived her for five years and it has pretty much been hell since then,” said Gilbert.
