TRAVIS COUNTY (KXAN) - A little girl is recovering after a frightening start to her day Tuesday.
She was hit by a car at a bus stop in the Rocky Creek Subdivision off Hamilton Pool Road.

"It still hurts but I'm better," said Molly Finley.

The 10-year-old as a scraped chin, arm sling, bruises on her knees and scrapes on her feet.

The Bee Cave Elementary fifth grader barely saw the car that hit her.

"Well, my mom yelled and I looked on the side and saw it but it was too late," said Finley.

Finley left her backpack in her mom's car and went back to get it while the bus driver waited for her.

Deputies say Rithy Kehm passed the stopped bus in his Green Honda and hit her.
Kehm was ticketed for passing a school bus and not displaying an ID.  Some people who saw the driver say he was visibly shaken.

Finley went to Dell Children's Hospital for treatment and was released.

"It's scary, it's you know you need to be careful with the little kids around," said resident Larhonda Niccum.

Some residents of the Rocky Creek subdivision say the bus stop at the community's front entrance caused back ups and some people would pass the busses.  So after the incident Tuesday the HOA posted signs informing the community, that beginning Wednesday, the stop would move from the community's mailboxes to the community's amenities center, further away from the front entrance.

"They'll be able to avoid the traffic in and out," said Niccum.

Finley, who's a swimmer, got a towel and balloons from her coach when she got home from the hospital.

"It was really nice of him," said Finley.

She knows she's one lucky girl and hopes drivers who hear her story always stop for school busses and never pass them.

"Yeah, don't do that.  That's a bad idea," she said.
