AUSTIN (KXAN) - Construction crews broke a gas line in the 1400 block of South Lamar Saturday morning, causing a traffic headache.

A spokesperson for the Austin Fire Department said it will be up to two hours before the traffic lanes reopen and the line is fixed.

Crews using a trencher hit the line while working on the road Saturday morning.

Both southbound lanes of South Lamar are closed and one northbound lane.

Access to some of the businesses in the area is limited but there are no evacuations.
