Games begin on Halloween weekend

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Halloween weekend kicked off at Comic Con  on Saturday morning, as self-described "geeks" got the chance to show off their costumes.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino  was on hand to unveil his own comic book at the three-day event at the Austin Convention Center. The highlight of the event is expected to be a reunion of seven of the cast members Star Trek: The Next Generation. Attendees will include  Patrick Stewart, who portrayed Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the commander of the USS Enterprise.

Other cast members on hand included  Jonathan Frakes (Commander William T. Riker ), LeVar Burton (Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Lieutenant Worf ), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi ), Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher).

Sorrentino said he was honored to be at the event. He also advised fans he will be hitting Sixth Street for the Halloween festivities on Saturday night.
