AUSTIN (KXAN) -

A freight train derailed on tracks along Martin Luther King Boulevard on Sunday afternoon, causing a scene that will probably take a couple of days to clear up.

According to Capital Metro, 7 of the 86 cars derailed. The train was carrying gravel, as most trains do on the freight line through Austin. The derailment caused no injuries, and it is not blocking crossings.

The derailment occurred on track that is controlled by Capital Metro, but it is not on the part of the line used for commuter rail. It may take a couple of days to clear the scene.
