AUSTIN (KXAN) - An overnight fire in North Austin near U.S. Highway 183 has left seven people, three of them children, without a home.

The blaze broke out at 1903 Hearthstone Drive around 12:45 a.m., but firefighters were quick to knocked it down.

Fire officials said an electrical short is to blame for the blaze that caused $30,000 in damage to the fourplex and $2,000 in personal belongings.

Meanwhile, there were no injuries, and everyone without a home is staying with family.
