Four charged with running theft ring

$6,000 in merchandise stolen, police say

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - Four people are charged in an organized theft ring which totaled $6,000 in stolen merchandise, according to multiple arrest affidavits.

According to the documents released Tuesday, Valentin Perez, Noe Puente, Nereyda Perez, and Diana Puent were working together and targeted over 12 separate locations from cities including Round Rock, San Marcos, and San Antonio.

The arrest warrant affidavit released Tuesday depicts how the four individuals worked together to to steal merchandise from popular Texas outlet malls. Their tactics included pretending they didn't know each other,snipping off security devices and stuffing stolen merchandise into a child's back pack.

According to the arrest warrants, the four entered up to nine different stores in the Round Rock Outlet mall, and another two at the San Marcos Outlets. Merchandise was stolen from stores like Puma,Toys R Us,Nike and even over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise from Burberry.

The group was also charged with stealing $1,120 worth of merchandise from Sea World in San Antonio.

According to the arrest warrants, Valentin Perez, Noe Puente, Nereyda Perez, and Diana Puente were all arrested on charges of organized retail theft and endangering a child.
