AUSTIN (KXAN) - Organizers of Formula Expo have donated more than $7,000 in support of Austin health care, officials announced Wednesday.
Ian Weightman, president and founder of Austin-based Formula Expo, presented a check for $7,531 on behalf of the organization to members of The Seton Fund and Seton Community Health Centers.
"Providing primary healthcare, patient education, and specialty care referrals is a vital part of Seton’s mission to care for the poor and vulnerable," said Charley Scarborough, executive director of The Seton Fund at the Seton Healthcare Family. "Formula Expo’s donation will help our community health center staff treat patients in need and supply medical rooms at Seton Community Health Centers across Central Texas."
Formula Expo was held in June at the Austin Convention Center. It provided exhibits and hands-on features for U.S. Grand Prix Formula One racing fans to learn more about the sport in a build-up to the November race, set for the new Circuit of The Americas track being built east of Austin.
