AUSTIN (KXAN) - If you've spent any time in front of a TV or computer -- you've likely seen and heard "Gangnam Style" -- the catchy pop song by South Korean singer Psy.
Just yesterday we reported on the Houston school district creating a Gangnam Style video to promote their upcoming bond vote. Today, folks here in Austin are doing the dance for the fun of it.
Here at Wahoo's Fish Tacos, the music was playing the energy was high and folks took to the streets to show off their best dance moves. The Gangnam Style flash mob lasted for about 10 minutes as over 100 people joined in the synchronized dance in the middle of the street.
The flash mob was put together by Jellifi events a tool that helps to organize and promote sporadic gatherings like this around town. They set up a Facebook group and got a huge response from people interested in learning the moves and having a little fun.
"There were 160 people that RSVPed on the Facebook event so i knew it was going to be big," said Rachael Cummings. "This was my first flash mob, and if it's Gangnam Style, I'll do it again."
