First bank robbery of the new year

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Two days into the new year and Austin police are already working its first bank robbery.

Police said just before 6:30 p.m., a man entered the Woodforest National Bank (located inside a WalMart) located at the corner of IH-35 and Slaughter Lane and handed a note to the teller.

The robber demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a male in his mid 20s, thin scruffy beard, and blue/green eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, a white and blue striped zipper jacket.
