AUSTIN (KXAN) - A morning fire left a family of nine displaced in South East Austin.
The fire, at the Country Club Apartments at 4501 East Riverside, was quickly contained to a bedroom, which was the room of origin. Still, the fire displaced a family of nine that lived in the three-bedroom apartment. No other residents of the apartment complex were displaced.
According to fire officials, Red Cross was on the scene to assist the displaced family. The Austin Fire Department pegged the losses at $55,000, which was $40,000 structure and $15,000 contents.
Fire officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
