AUSTIN (KXAN) - An FBI agent testified in the Jovita's trial involving an alleged heroin ring out of a South Austin restaurant.
Steven Hause is testifying about running surveillance on the alleged heroin operation. Prosecutors are trying to prove it was run by Jose and Amado Pardo.
Jose Pardo and Jorge Carrillo are on trial.
Carrillo is accused of being the main supplier of heroin to the Pardo brothers. Pardo is accused of running a heroin operation, independent of his brother, Amado.
Several witnesses took the stand this week who are accused of being directly involved in the alleged conspiracy.
They discussed the process of getting the heroin, processing it for distribution, and packaging it to be sold on the street.
Carrillo and Jose Pardo are among 15 suspects charged with intent to distribute heroin from the restaurant. Amado Prado died in January while in hospice care .
In all, police seized $1.5 million in assets , including the restaurant, weapons, cars and cash.
The FBI, Austin police, the Travis County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety were among the agencies who participated in the roundup.
