AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police said Kenneth Ellison, 58, was arrested Saturday night after he was accused of shooting his nephew with a rifle when he became upset about losing a game of dominos.
According to the affidavit, Ellison and other members of his family were playing dominos at their grandparents house when Ellison became upset about loosing the game and threatened to shoot his nephew.
The family members told police they became frightened when Ellison retrieved the rifle and tried to leave the room,. The said Ellison shot his nephew on the back of the left shoulder as he was attempting to escape, the affidavit said.
Police said the victim was taken to the hospital for a minor gunshot wound.
Ellison is in Travis County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. His bail is set for $100,000, the affidavit said.
