AUSTIN (KXAN) – Due to high volumes, Austin Resource Recovery curbside customers may experience a slight delay in yard trimmings collections throughout the spring season.

Austin Resource Recovery asks that all customers continue to set out yard trimmings at the curb on their regularly scheduled collection day. Yard trimmings will be collected within 2 days of the regular schedule. Austin Resource Recovery crews will extend daytime hours and work weekends as needed to collect yard trimmings from customers as quickly as possible.

Customers do not need to call to report delays in service.

Yard Trimmings Collection Guidelines:

  • Yard trimmings are grass clippings, leaves and small branches or limbs that are no longer than 5 feet and no thicker than 3 inches in diameter.
  • Place yard trimmings in lawn-and-leaf Kraft paper bags or a reusable containers no larger than 34-gallons and no heavier than 50 pounds.
  • Small branches should be tied with string or twine into manageable bundles no heavier than 50 pounds.

Customers should not expect any trash or recycling collection delays.
