AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Fire Department announced Friday morning that the house fire which sent seven people to various hospitals on Tuesday has been ruled arson.

Fire crews arrived at the home to find heavy fire coming from the family home and a separate building in the back of the lot, located at 2105 East 14th St.

A pregnant 16-year-old girl was among those injured. She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio for treatment, as was a 65-year-old man from the same home.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said two girls, ages 11 and 16, were in critical condition with inhalation burns and being treated at Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston.

A 13-year-old was taken to Dell Children's Medical Center with minor injuries and released. Four others were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment. Two of them, both 19-year-old men, were listed in good condition.

Police said the teens were able to get out after kicking out a window air conditioning unit.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced family.

AFD said they are getting a lot of tips in the case and continue to investigate the crime.

A press conference is set for Friday afternoon where more information will be made public.
