Dump truck accident hospitalizes man

60-year-old man taken to Brackenridge

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A 60-year-old man is in the hospital after an accident with a dump truck overnight Sunday.

It happened shortly before 2:30 in the 6200 block of Langham Street in southeast Austin.

According to APD a man driving a 1998 GMC pickup truck hit a parked dump truck.

Police have released few details but we’re told a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Brackeridge Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The police homicide unit was called out to investigate the accident due to the nature of injuries the passenger received.

According to police the driver was arrested and faces charges of intoxicated assault.
