AUSTIN (KXAN) - An Austin police officer is OK after a dog attacked him after heading to a call in East Austin.

The officer went to 1135 Richardine Ave. at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday after the dog had been attacked by another dog.

That's when police said the dog, which was still on the loose, attacked the officer.

After the dog was captured, Animal Control called to pick it up.

Meanwhile, the police officer was not bitten, and there is no mention about whether gunshots were fired.
