AUSTIN (KXAN) - Black Friday shopping was down this year but online shopping is expected to hit new highs.
Retail reports show folks spent just over $11 billion. That's down 1.8% from a year ago.
Meantime IBM says folks aren't waiting for Cyber Monday. On-line sales were up 17% on Thanksgiving and up 21% on Black Friday.
One local tech company wants you to save big bucks this Cyber Monday. Offers.com scours the internet finding the deals and coupon codes. Then they hand-pick the very best deals and put them on their website.
According to Founder/CEO, Steve Schaffer, "Consumers will go to offers.com before they buy anything on the internet. We have over 5,000 of the top online stores. You can look for a coupon code or a deal go from our site to a space to a merchant . Consumers save about 25 dollars for every purchase.
