MANOR, Texas (KXAN) - Crews worked to control a large grass fire  in Manor on Friday afternoon south of U.S. 290 and west of the Texas 45 toll road.

No structures were threatened, but firefighters were attempting to corral the flames by moistening the dry brush surrounding the fire.

Firefighters at were sent just before 4 p.m. to the 7600 block of Daffon Lane, which is near the Bluebonnet Hill Golf Course and Walter E. Long Lake. By 4:30, they were able to douse the flames.

The region remains under a fire danger because of the extremely dry conditions.
