AUSTIN (KXAN) - A rollover crash on Farm to Market Road 2222 late Tuesday morning sent three people to the hospital and at least one appeared to be seriously hurt, police said.

The wreck happened near Mesa Drive before 11:15 a.m. At least two cars were involved, one of which was belonged to KLBJ news radio.

Westbound 2222 from Drive Creek to Mesa drive was closed for three hours Tuesday.

One witness told KXAN she was traveling in front of a green car when its driver tried to change lanes then lost control and spun into oncoming lanes of traffic, striking a blue SUV with KLBJ markings on it.

"It was horrible," said Liliana Mondragon. "My heart was beating so fast... She (the SUV driver) probably didn't see (the crash) coming because it happened so fast."

Mondragon who uses FM 2222 to commute to work everyday said the pavement was wet at the time of the collision. The force of the impact caused the SUV to roll several times. One of the vehicle's engine blocks also become dislodged.

No names have been released. The police investigation is ongoing to see if speed or road condtions were factors in the wreck.
