AUSTIN (KXAN) - The City Council on Wednesday put off action on a plan to expand the Austin City Limits music festival for at least two weeks.
Last month, parks officials confirmed they were in discussions to expand the Austin City Limits Music Festival to two weekends beginning in 2013.
C3 Presents, the Austin-based producer of the festival, approached the Austin Parks and Recreation Department about adding another weekend, according to parks director Sara Hensley.
The proposed dates are Oct. 4 - Oct. 6, which would be added to the already scheduled dates of Oct. 11 - Oct. 13. The event is staged in Zilker Park.
C3 Presents has also pledged to support the parks department. The company is planning a hefty donation, reportedly in the millions, to help renovate Auditorium Shores.
The council signaled that the item would be taken up Aug. 16.
