AUSTIN (KXAN) - Thousands of tourists means thousands of tons of trash.
The city of Austin installed 180- to 200 extra trash bins and increased the number of cleanup crews on the street.
They will be combing over a large area from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Interstate 35 to Cesar Chavez Street to Lamar Boulevard.
They are also covering areas east of I-35 from East Cesar Chavez Street to 12th Street from I-35 to Chicon Street.
Meanwhile, business and homeowner trash and recycling pickup will stay on schedule.
