City offers free rabies shots for pets
Dogs and cats 12 weeks and older receive shot

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A free pet vaccination clinic will be held April 6 to help protect your pet and family from rabies.
The clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon on April 6 at Garrison District Park, 6601 Manchaca Road.
State law requires dog and cat owners to get their pets treated with the rabies vaccine. The City of Austin conducts four free clinics throughout the year.
Vaccinations will be provided to dogs and cats 12 weeks of age and older.
Animals younger than that will be provided free identification tags. The pets will be registered in the animal services database so they can returned if they become lost.
Dogs must be on a leash and cats in carriers or secured in boxes with air holes. Puppies should be brought in carriers or crates.
