AUSTIN (KXAN) - A woman who stole $45,000 from a local charity branch has been ordered to pay that money back or go to prison.

On Friday, Lisa Dorhauer, 56 was sentenced to 10 years probation as part of a plea deal.

According to Jim Young with the Travis County District Attorney's office, Dorhauer got probation because the state wanted to collect the restitution.

Dorhauer wil be on deferred adjudication but if she doesn't pay the stolen money back in the 10 years allotted, she will go to prison.

The specific time frame on when and how she will pay back the stolen money will be determined by the probation department.

Records indicate from May 2008 to April 2010, Dorhauer stole around $45,000 from the Lutheran Social Services of the South. Dorhauer worked at the organization during that time period but was fired when the fraud was uncovered.

Dorhauer was arrested last year .
