AUSTIN (KXAN) - Capital Metro and The University of Texas Center for Electromechanics unveiled a new zero-emission hydrogen hybrid bus on Thursday.
The vehicle is a prototype to showcase and test hydrogen fuel cell technology in an advanced electric drive transit bus.
The bus will operate among the UT shuttles and be fueled at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus.
The yearlong demonstration in Austin is being funded by a grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Federal Transit Administration.
