AUSTIN (KXAN) - A burglary suspect who allegedly sped away from police late Thursday night is now charged with murder.
It started when a woman called 911 saying two men were trying to break into her family's home on Razil Court in South Austin.
As officers approached the area, they noticed a suspicious car speeding away. That's when the chase began at 11:37 p.m.
After a short chase, officers said driver Sebastian Loera crashed into a tree along Riddle Road -- killing the passenger. Police have not yet released his identity.
Police said the driver got out and ran away, but they found him when someone called 911 to report a suspicious man without a shirt hiding between houses on Gail Road. He was taken to a hospital to treat minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police have not found anyone who saw the crash.
