AUSTIN (KXAN) - Brigid Shea is joining the race to head the city, expected to officially make the announcement Wednesday evening.

“I’m running for mayor because we need new leadership and a new direction at City Hall,” said former Councilwoman Shea. “This race is about our future."

Shea will be at Threadgill's just south of the river at 6 p.m. for the announcement and will also outline her priorities -- including affordability and preserving Austin's unique quality of life.
