AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police Department arrested a 13-year-old boy Friday morning after he led them on a car chase.
At about 9:30 a.m., callers to 9-1-1 reported seeing a van being driven recklessly by a driver who looked like a child.
Police caught up with the car in the 100 block of East Anderson Lane and the driver continued for about five minutes, attempting to evade police, before the driver stopped in near 5500 N. Lamar Blvd.
Police found a handgun and two air pistols in the vehicle.
The teen was arrested and charged with felony evading arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
