AUSTIN (KXAN) - According to police affidavit, a member of the Bloods gang was arrested on Friday after police seized 140 grams of cocaine from the residence and car.
Calvin Anthony Houston, 32, was identified as one of the three ring leaders of this operation to sell powder and crack cocaine and was arrested on a charge of criminal conspiracy, police said.
According to the affidavit, the Austin Police Department Gang Unit received multiple confidential reports in reference to six Bloods gang members selling cocaine at a residence located at 6805 Wentworth Drive.
Police searched the residence and found about 140 grams of cocaine along with a box of baking soda, metal sticks used to transform powder cocaine into crack cocaine and a microwave with cocaine residue, police said.
Police also seized a total of $8,400 during the search and the majority of the cash was found in Houston's vehicle, according to the affidavit.
Before the search, detectives performed surveillance on the residence and saw an extensive amount of narcotics being purchased. Detectives said all purchases involved Houston and the other two ring leaders, Reginald Easley,33, and Walter Spikes,39.
Houston was taken to Travis County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony.
His bail is set at $60,000.
