AUSTIN (KXAN) - A motorcyclist died in a Saturday afternoon accident after slamming into a car on a tollway ramp.

The accident occurred on State Highway 45 North onto southbound U.S. Highway 193. The bike slid into the back of a car and caught fire.

The rider of the 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle, identified Monday as Stephen West Rose, 53, died at the scene of the accident. Police said he was wearing a helmet.

A passenger in the 2008 Jeep Wrangler suffered slight injuries, according to the Austin police watch commander.

The flyover ramp was temporarily closed after the accident.

Austin police did not identify the name of the rider of the motorcycle or the passenger of the car.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene, and no charges against him are expected to be filed, Austin Police Department said on Monday.
