AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Belmont is officially reopening their doors with new ownership and renovations.
Starting Saturday night they will be celebrating by featuring disc jockey Mike Relm from San Francisco. The show is free for fans who RSVP to Do512 .
In September, the Belmont closed without explanation.
"It is with the greatest amount of sadness to alert you that The Belmont is officially closed for business permanently," the restaurant said in an email. "We appreciate your continued support."
The night spot at 305. W. Sixth St. billed itself as a "classic American restaurant and bar" that featured live music and rented space out for private parties. It gave no reason for its closure.
The Belmont's new ownership spent more than $800,000 in renovations which included doubling the size of the stage, inside and outside stage viewing area, new D&B sound system with LED lighting, and the removal of the former restaurant to allow more dancing space.
Austin food trailers will be providing food services for events and the Belmont has signature cocktails at each of the four bars inside.
New general manager Raul Garcia is working toward making the Belmont Austin's new hot spot for live music.
