AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin's Work From Home Day hoped to clear the air Friday by getting more cars off the road in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint -- and all while educating the working population about ways to make working remotely simple and manageable.

Stephen Vogelpohl with SocialGood.TV helped jumpstart the entire initiative, collaborating with several large organizations and state and city officials. He explains what's so great about the movement.

Bill Blackstone took the hint and is conducting his normal Rackspace duties from home, enjoying his four-legged friend while being productive!

Elizabeth Frisch with Thrival School helps companies set up telecommuting programs, and she talked about why it's easier to do this more so now than it ever was before.

Lucia Athens, Austin's chief sustainability officer, encouraged as many city employees to phone it in as possible. Athens explained why.

KXAN News Today took advantage of the fun Friday as well, with Digital Reporter Jackie Vega taking care of business in her pajamas.
