Race winner will have opporunity to sign Fender

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The LiveStrong Austin Marathon and Half Marathon is one week away and on Friday members of the media got a chance to see the official guitar of the race.
LiveStrong Austin Marathon and Half Marathon director John Conley posed for a picture with Jeff Van Zandt of Fender, holding the Fender Strat electric guitar.
Race organizers said the winner of this years Austin Marathon will have a chance to sign the guitar.
The LiveStrong Austin Marathon is one of the most scenic races in Texas, nearly half the course is run along Town Lake and the Colorado River.
The rolling hills of Austin make this race one of the more challenging marathons in the Lone Star State.
This year's LiveStrong Austin Marathon will be held Feb. 19, with a start time of 7:00 am.
