AUSTIN (KXAN) - Many people enjoy a good scare on Halloween, but one Austin man has made it his life's mission to give Austinites the scariest experience they can imagine.
Pulling off a great haunted house is no easy task, and Daniel McCullough knows firsthand.
He first built a haunted cemetery in his yard in South Austin in the mid-1990s, which quickly became a local favorite attraction.
"That was the funniest experience for me, and that's what really got me hooked into doing it, " said McCullough.
McCullough loved it so much he decided to make it a career and is now celebrating 10 years of success with "House of Torment."
"It was rocky the first year or two, but looking back, it was the best decision we made, " he continued, "We're able to come to work everyday and completely love our job."
McCullough and a crew of six work all year coming up with bigger and better ideas for the next year's haunted house.
They spend two months planning the theme and an additional eight months building props, monsters and costumes.
