AUSTIN (KXAN) - Once again Austin has made a top-10 list and this one puts Women's Health at the forefront.
In a recent Women’s health study researchers compiled data on 38-measures of health and well being. The team measured access to medical care, cancer and obesity rates as well as longevity.
The study also looked at lifestyle factors including nutrition, unemployment, happiness and fitness using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Census and the American Cancer Society.
The data was used to establish an overall health score, each city was ranked in the top 10 or least healthy bottom 10 for a total of 100 cities.
Austin ranked eight on the list, just under Seattle Washington, which ranked at number seven. The top healthiest city was San Francisco, California. The worst city on the list was Birmingham, Alabama.
